People often collect every identifier printed on a phone box after a device disappears and then search for a website that can turn one of those numbers into a location. Unfortunately, identifiers and live location are different things.
This article explains what is technically possible and how to protect yourself from misleading claims. It does not provide instructions for covert or unauthorized tracking.
A SIM or eSIM identifies a subscriber relationship to a mobile network. The network needs that information to provide cellular service, but public websites do not receive carrier-level location access merely because somebody knows a SIM-related identifier.
If your SIM is stolen with the phone, call the carrier. Suspending the line and arranging a replacement protects your number and reduces the risk of SMS-based account takeover.
A manufacturer's serial number is useful for inventory, warranty, repair, insurance and proof of ownership. It may help identify a recovered device. It does not continuously broadcast a public location.
Keep a copy of your important device identifiers somewhere other than the phone itself. A photo of the box stored in a secure account is more useful after a loss than a note saved only on the missing phone.
MAC addresses identify network interfaces at a local link layer. Modern mobile operating systems also use address randomization in many situations to reduce passive tracking.
Knowing a MAC address does not give you a global internet service for following that interface around the world. Local network operators may observe devices that connect to their own infrastructure; that is a different scenario from public GPS tracking.
For your own missing Android device, use the official lost-device workflow. For a phone you still control and want to track in the future, use an authorized location-sharing or GPS-recording app.
If your goal is simply to identify a recovered handset, serial and IMEI information are valuable. If your goal is a live map, you need an actual location service with prior authorization.
LocationOf does not start a tracking session from SIM, IMSI, serial or MAC values. The Android app obtains device location with the permissions granted by the person configuring the device and sends those recorded points to LocationOf.
Identifiers answer “which account, device or network interface is this?” Location answers “where was the device at a particular time?” A system may legitimately use both, but possession of the first does not automatically provide the second.

Store the phone's model, IMEI, serial number and purchase evidence somewhere other than the phone itself. Those details can help a carrier, insurer, repair centre or police identify the handset. Also make sure the platform's lost-device service is enabled while the phone is still available.
If you want an additional route history, configure a tracker transparently in advance. No serial-number database can recreate location points that an application or platform service never recorded.
Identifier lookup pages can provide legitimate non-location information. An IMEI database may infer a device family, a carrier system can recognize subscriber information, and a manufacturer can use a serial number for warranty or repair records. The problem begins when that ordinary lookup is presented as if it created access to the phone's current coordinates.
Before paying for any “locator”, ask what system is actually supplying the live position and what authorization connects that system to the handset. If the explanation jumps directly from “we know the serial, SIM or MAC address” to a moving map without an installed app, authenticated account, paired hardware or lawful network access, the technical chain is missing.
