What is it?
My World GPS Tracker is a mobile application that can be installed on your cell phone to record the routes you travel, using the GPS, GLONASS* and EGNOS* positioning systems. You can record routes while the phone is offline (while roaming), or, have the application send locations to the website in real-time, allowing peers to watch your progress as you go.
What can I do with it?
Using the application, you can turn your phone into a real-time gps tracker. That means, you can effectively record the routes you travel, and publish them online. You can choose to share your whereabouts with others, or, to keep your profile set private. For companies, it can be useful to install the application on several company phones, and watch the locations of employees from the office, nicely grouped in a map. Or, for personal use, you could show your friends and family where you're at. The application can also be used while on holiday - If configured so, it can store your routes on the phone's internal memory, and submit once in range of a WiFi hotspot so people at home will be able to see where you've been. What do I need?
As a minimum requirement, all you need is a phone with GPS and WiFi (like the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic). If you want to share your tracks in real-time, instantly showing others where you are, you also need a mobile internet connection. What does it cost?
Essentially, the service is free for personal use.How do I get started?
