Jasper Goes

My name is Jasper Goes, 28 years old and originally from Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands (Holland).
I was introduced to the internet as a young kid in 1994 and experienced the rapid development of the web as time went by. I started out with simple projects on my homebrew webserver in 1995, and created multiple websites before the age of 12.
By now my never-ending interest for making fun and usable things, has led me to creating the My World GPS Tracker and it's web interface at LocationOf.com, mainly just because I could.
The project started out by me getting a new GPS phone, and deciding to see what I could develop for it. A couple of days after that, the very first version of the tracker was there, and friends could from then on watch my whereabouts in real-time. As I then decided to put the (at that point, very minor) app online, the software was downloaded over thirty thousand times in two months. That's when I started putting more time and effort in building the app as well as the web interface.

Currently, I am almost constantly spending my time improving the website, the mobile application, and the over-all user experience. Thanks to the ever increasing number of people who use the service, it's maintenance is now more of a full-fledged full-time job for me rather than a hobby grown out of control.

Although it's been a long time since I were even in the Top-100 of most-active users of the service, you can still always see where I am at, because I am still a fanatic user of my own product.
